My Top 5 YouTube Videos for Week Ending May 11 Includes Selena Gomez, Gravity, and the Beastie Boys

It’s that time of week again where I take a few minutes to highlight some of the great YouTube videos from the past week.  Since just about everything is fair game this list contains everything from movie trailers to skits, if you think I missed something through the hours of content I sit through, leave a comment and I will check it out.

First up on the list, and probably my favorite of the week comes courtesy of the Jimmy Kimmel Show.  There is just something about celebrities reading mean tweets that makes me smile.  Of course, there isn’t much about Jessica Alba that doesn’t make me smile no matter what year it is.

By now everybody knows about the women recovered after being abducted in the Cleveland area, and some lucky soul has used auto-tune to make a little song out of the hero who helped rescue the girls.  This is just a nice piece of work that deserves to be recognized.

Lyrical depth has never really been the strong suit for just about any pop music icon, and Selena Gomez is no exception with this latest hit “Come and Get It.”  However, what the song lacks it makes up for by having an ear infecting addiction to that refrain and a video that is pretty cool.

Speaking of music, there is another old school tune that caught my attention earlier this week by the Beastie Boys, “So What’ca Want?”.  This song is just a lot of fun and a nice blast from the past.

Lastly making the list is a movie trailer for the film “Gravity” by Alfonso Cuaron.  Since it stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, the film should be more than just okay.  If you are not sure what it is about, check out this thrilling trailer.
