What is it about December that brings out the best in YouTube? My five favorite videos from the sharing site were difficult to decide on this week because of some truly great entries. The question is: What do a movie trailer, a TV preview, a violinist, a foreign commercial, and a parody on a much loved Queen song have in common? The answer is simple—they all made my list for the week ending December 7, 2013. Take a look:
Japanese Tire Commercial
Yes, you will be using this video in some capacity over the next few days if you have not seen it yet. I can’t imagine commercials like this in the US, and perhaps it is time to start thinking out of the box.
Amazing Spider-Man 2 Trailer
You know, I like the original reboot version of “The Amazing Spider-Man,” but after watching this trailer I am filled with worry about the second installment of Stan Lee’s wall-crawling web-oozing science nerd. The CGI might be a touch overdone, and what is going on with The Rhino anyway? Still, nice to a Doc Ock nod in there.
House of Cards Season 2
Really, just a great way to get me excited for another week of binge watching.
Lindsey Stirling Oh Come, Emmanuel
I’m in the process of finalizing my list of people that I wish I had discovered prior to 2013, and this woman definitely will be popping up on it somewhere. This version of a church going classic is something that a lot of artists would steer away from. Lindsey and Kuha'o clearly are on the same page here. Because the result is haunting and inspiring at the same time, I can’t stop watching.
