'Constantine' Gets Benched

John Constantine might be fighting the good fight in DC Comics, but the magician, con-man, hero, villain, or whatever you want to call him has been benched when it comes to television.  According to Entertainment Weekly, NBC has decided to stop production on the series after the initial 13 episode order.

While the standpoint of NBC allows for the show to continue next year or on another season because it is not canceled,  However, it will interesting to see what the network decides to do with the show.  Even Constantine couldn't figure that out.

Personally, I'm a bit disappointed with the show so far, but it is really growing on me.  As a long time fan of the character, I found the first few episodes a bit south of good.  After the last few weeks though, my views have changed.  I think it's really getting that much better.

Shows like "Constantine" generally take a little bit to find their legs, and it's actually loaded with nice performances.  I'm not convinced that NBC gave it a fair go, because that Friday night at 10pm time slot is tough for any series I don't care if "Grimm" is the lead-in.

With any luck the show pops up again on the Fall 2015 schedule, or finds a home on another network.  I hear Netflix has an opening.
